  • Environmental Investigations was registered in 1994.
  • Environmental Investigations Ltd. (EIL) was incorporated in 1995.
  • In 1997, along with Kirk Morrison of Bel MK Engineering, EIL collaborated efforts to create the Environmental Management Resource Manual© for the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA).
  • In 1998, the University of Guelph’s Distance Learning program created an environmental management course focused on golf course maintenance which utilized the CGSA’s Environmental Management Resource Manual© as the course text.
  • In February 2002 – the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association was presented with the President’s Award for Environmental Stewardship by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) for implementation of the Environmental Management Resource Manual©. Previous winners have included the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program & the USGA’s Environmental Research Program
  • In the summer of 2003, Environmental Investigations Ltd. was commissioned by the IPM/ PHC Council of Ontario to perform both annual desk reviews and on-site facility audits for the IPM Accreditation Program for the Ontario golf sector.
  • In the summer of 2005 as part of a new online certificate program, “Maintaining Golf Courses”, EIL created “Environmental Management of the Golf Course”, for the Office of Open Learning, University of Guelph. In total, the six-course Certificate program provides students the flexibility to gain valuable knowledge at a time and place convenient to them. Mark A. Scenna is the facilitator for Environmental Management of the Golf Course. These courses are entitled to GCSAA & IPM accreditation.
  • In January 2007 Mark A. Scenna obtained his Canadian Certified Environmental Practitioner (CCEP) designation from the Canadian Environmental Certification Approvals Board (CECAB), meeting the environmental competencies of Canada's national occupational standards for environmental employment in Environmental Protection Management.   • In March 2007, Environmental Investigations Ltd. was commissioned by the IPM/ PHC Council of Ontario to perform both annual desk reviews and on-site facility audits for the IPM Accreditation Program for the Ontario Lawn Care & Municipality sector.

Currently, Environmental Investigations Ltd. is in its’ 15th year of operation having conducted environmental consulting services for more than 150 golf courses across Canada.
